Divisadero & Lower Haight is a radical neighborhood.

Pre Murph living here, I'd spent time going to the Independent for shows. Nothing more adventurous. I certainly wasn't going out of my way to discover the food scene. Lower Haight and Divis weren't on my radar. Even after living in SF for years.

I'm thankful to now know this area very well. Some of the best food in SF exists in this neighborhood. I've come to love it and will miss the scene now that we live up town.

Uncovering the truly local spots is what I am here to do. SO. I've outlined all of our favorite spots below.

Of note if you're an out-of-towner, the "Full House" house also lives in this neighborhood. Make an afternoon out of it. You won't be sorry.

The Grind

Casual coffeeshop meets diner. Everything I've ordered is a win. Grilled cheese. Soup. Fries. French toast. You can't go wrong.

Black Sands

Brewery and brunch. They have all day menus, but brunch is a win. People love the burger.

On the fancier side of the spectrum with craft cocktails and an upscale menu.

Iza Ramen

Veg ramen with a side of extra noodles. My forever favorite. There is a usually a line, but it's always worth it.

Another spot know for the (cheese)burger. Fancy cocktails and a fun time.

Bi Rite

A supermarket with killer ice cream. Get the brownie Sunday. Calories don't count.

Always a win. The pro move is to go 15 minutes before it opens and sit at the bar or go late night. Huge fan of the brunch French toast.

A classic SF chain with killer greek yogurt. Debates go on about the best topping. I like honey.

Little Star

Sunday staple that we are thankful we can still order for delivery. Deep dish pizza with California flair. Perfect in every way.

The Mill

High end, hipster coffee and toast place. They make their bread in house and their coffee is artisan (aka kinda bitter). Very cool and the best place to people watch.

This certainly proves that in this 'hood...

Everywhere you look. Everywhere you go. There's a heart (there's a heart). A hand to hold on to. lol. jk.
